Congratulations to all Science Fair Participants!

In February, Los Arboles held a science fair for all students. Students in kinder through second performed science experiments with the help of their classroom teacher. Some projects included which candies when placed in soda can produce the most gas, which liquid drink is the worst for your teeth, and many more topics.

Students in third grade performed and completed their science fair projects at home and in class. Staff members judged individual third grade science experiments. Our top three winners were given the chance to compete at the district level science fair on March 2. The students who moved forward from our school science fair were Joanna Valdez, Emily Sanchez Loera, and Layla Jackson. We wished them good luck in representing our school at the district fair.

On March 2nd, our top three winners presented their projects at the district science fair. At this event, the top three students from each school’s third through eight grades have the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of judges. This year, Layla Jackson, one of our third grade students, earned 3rd place for third grade projects in the district wide science fair! Her project focused on discovering if gummy bears would grow or shrink in different types of liquids. Way to go Layla!

Congratulations to all science fair participants! And special congratulations to Layla Jackson for bringing home a 3rd place project in her grade level group!
