Los Arboles students have decided to give back to their community this holiday season by teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties work to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one. It was founded in 1974 and is one of the largest food banks in the nation. More than half of the people served by Second Harvest are seniors and kids.
On November 13th, our school wide can food drive kicked off. Each grade level has it’s own food collection barrel in the cafeteria. So far kinder and second grade have since filled their barrels and have received a second barrel! First and third are very close to filling up their barrels too! Our can food drive will continue through the month of December. All canned food should be turned in by Thursday, December 13th.
