About Ms. Espitia
Ms. Espita was born and raised here in the Bay Area. She is a cat and plant mom. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling the world, hiking in national parks, and horseback riding.
Professional Background
Ms. Espitia is an experienced educator with over 15 years of dedicated service in the field as Principal, Assistant Principal, Special Education, and General Education teacher in the K-8 setting. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Education from San Jose State University. Ms. Espitia is currently working on her Doctorate Degree in Education Leadership at the University of Southern California (USC).
Ms. Espitia's Vision for Los Arboles
Ms. Espitia is dedicated to creating equitable solutions to close the achievement gap for BIPOC students with diverse learning needs in economically disadvantaged communities. Ms. Espitia would like to build a strong culture and community that inspires other educators, students, and staff to do their personal best by embracing diversity. She wants to share her knowledge of equity, develop collaborative teams, teach the ethic of care, model inclusive practices, set high standards, incorporate social-emotional learning, restorative justice, positive school-wide incentives, teach students to be self-advocates, and ultimately create opportunities for marginalized groups to achieve academic excellence.
Other Achievements:
Ms. Espitia is currently the Board Secretary for the Santa Clara County Region's Association of California School Administrators.
Ms. Espitia has provided professional development for educators statewide through the Instructional Leadership Corps.
