Los Arboles Celebrates Dr. Seuss!

This past week was a very fun, eventful week at Los Arboles. Teachers, staff, and students celebrated world renown author, Dr. Seuss. The week was filled with many activities. On Monday, teachers decorated the classroom doors and used student work and pictures to represent Dr. Seuss' published books. Tuesday was filled with a giant game of words! Students taped various letters of the alphabet onto his or her shirts and made as many words as they could with one another. One group of students challenged themselves to build a long word, "January". For Wednesday, teachers dressed up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. Cindy Lou Who, The Cat in the Hat, and The Lorax, to name of few, were present and teaching on campus. Students were very surprised and excited! On Thursday, Third and Second grade students teamed up with T-K, Kinder, and First for some buddy reading to practice reading fluency and comprehension strategies. Our week concluded with guest readers from the San Jose Police Department and members of The United States Navy. Our students definitely enjoyed listening to our guest readers and asking questions about their career. It was definitely a week to remember at Los Arboles.
