GATE
Los Arboles offers the Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program to its third grade students. Third grade students are the only grade level at Los Arboles that can be admitted to the program. Students are identified by their teachers and are given a test. In order for students to qualify for GATE, they must pass this examine. If the student is a GATE student they receive some extra curricular activities after school. These extra curricular activities occur after school and are provided by the Schmahl Science Workshops. This organization strives to bring science and technology to our students. The activities provided are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and can include making slime or investigating scientific practices. The district holds an annual GATE meeting for parents and a GATE FAIR for students in the spring. Information about these meetings will be given to students who qualified through the exam.
